About the Artist:
Benedicto is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Washington DC. He received his BA in Applied Aesthetics at George Mason University. Benedicto has exhibited in a number of exhibitions, most recently at Hemphill Gallery and HOMME.
Before becoming a studio artist, Benedicto competed and performed in gymnastics, receiving third place at the 2011 United States Tumbling and Trampoline Association National Championships. In 2007-08, he trained in Circus Arts at the École Nationale De Cirque in Montreal, Canada, before auditioning and joining Cirque du Soleil’s talent pool. Benedicto did not proceed due to an onset of chronic health conditions. From this recovery, he developed an artistic practice.
cyperhocult is a collection of works from 2021, developed from Benedicto’s research in trans-human and post-human thinking.
All artworks at the Silva are by local artists and sourced by Latela Curatorial, a full service art advisory studio based in Washington DC.
